SHIVERING Britain faces a week of snow misery with no let up in the Arctic snap for at least a fortnight.
Much of the country is braced for more snow over the next few days with northern and eastern parts in line for the worst of it.
Forecasters warned a “significant snow event” this weekend will see more than eight inches fall with the entire country at risk of wintry showers.
It comes as parts of the UK battle heavy snow, fierce Arctic gales and blizzards which have caused chaos on roads and transport systems.
Motorists in Scotland and northern England faced massive delays after six inches of snow fell yesterday morning leading to miles of tailbacks.
The Met Office yesterday issued severe weather warnings for more snow and ice today (Wednesday) and tomorrow with fierce gales across the south-west.

Forecaster Sarah Holland said everywhere will see snow during the week with heavy deluges across the North and eastern coasts.
She said: “Over the next two or three days nowhere should be surprised to see some snow.
“It could be very windy as well and there is also the issue of ice as there are some very low temperatures.
“The east coast is at the greatest risk of snow, here and in parts of north Yorkshire we could see up to four inches.
“People should prepare for disruption.”
