I could not help but chuckle at the irony of earth hours method of getting their message across. By turning off lights around the world they showed people exactly what they want. They want to turn the light out on human civilization. The wish to stop progress, to pull back humans desire to better out world. Instead of light that allows us to see truth clearly they choose darkness, to hide their true intentions.
Meteorologist Art Horn was raised in the town of Groton, Connecticut where he showed an early interest in becoming a weatherman. By the age of 7 he was watching the weather on TV every night and collecting weather maps from the government. In elementary school Art would bring his own weather forecast into school and post it for his fellow students. In the boy scouts he earned the weather merit badge by making his own weather instruments.
As the years moved on Art’s interest in weather continued. Eventually, he earned his degree in Meteorology with honors from Lyndon State College. After school Art was employed by two weather consulting companies in the Boston area. The first of these companies sent him to Iran to work during the winter of 1977/1978 as an on site Meteorologist for a weather sensitive project.
After returning from Iran Art worked in the radio weather field before he started his television career in Portland, Maine working for the CBS Station. After four years in Maine he moved to the CBS Station in Boston. He was in Boston a year and then headed south to be the Chief Meteorologist for the NBC Station in West Palm Beach, Florida. While there he produced many special programs about the dangers of Hurricanes. Working closely with the directors of the National Hurricane Center these specials helped make people aware that a new era of more frequent and larger hurricanes was coming. In the early 90s Art got a chance to come back to Connecticut and work for the NBC station in his home state. While working in Connecticut Art became well known for his many “live shots” outside during snowstorms.
In 2005 after 25 years in television Art started his own business: THE ‘ART’ OF WEATHER. Currently Art travels around New England and Florida as an expert witness, public/private speaker and frequents cruise ships with his WEATHER SHOWS that educate people about the many ways of our amazing atmosphere.
