It has been a few days since we have seen new video posted from this specific volcano in Japan -- the webcams are on 24/7 (linked below).
The agency which monitors this area issued an alert mid-way last year (2011) for the possibility of a large scale eruption from Sakurajima , with a possible associated pyroclastic flow which could result from a large ash plume fallout.
This alert still remains active, and if you live in Japan around this area directly, be aware these eruptions will continue into the near term and long term future... its only a matter of time before a very large eruption occurs.
This current series of already somewhat large eruptions is VERY impressive to see . Static discharge lightning, the entire mountainside covered in lava, and the accompanying ash clouds that are expected with such events.
