BRITAIN is set to sizzle in the run-up to the Olympics with temperatures soaring to 95F next week.
Glorious sunshine and blue skies from Sunday will mean it finally feels like summer after weeks of persistent rain.
Experts predict that temperatures in the South will hit 90F (32C) by the time the Games get under way on Friday.
And some regions are likely to strike gold with a scorching 95F – compared with just 59F across much of the UK a few days ago.
Jonathan Powell, forecaster for Vantage Weather Services, said yesterday: “Summer will finally arrive next week. It is a real change to what we have seen so far.” But he advised sun-starved Britons to enjoy it while it lasts, as the rain hasn’t gone away for long.
