Hurricanes will happen........

I have no idea who used the words "Hurricanes Hardly Happen" but according to the Houston based Weather Research Centre, they have already got this year sorted and are calling the odds using the Suns energy from Solar Cycle 24.

This link from Reuters Atlantic to see six hurricanes in '08 - forecast

States the following: -

The 2008 hurricane season will see 11 named tropical storms, with six becoming hurricanes

Half the hurricanes will become strong hurricanes, and four named storms will make landfall in the United States, the Houston-based Weather Research Center predicted.

The 2008 forecast gives 70 percent odds a cyclone will hit West Florida and 60 percent odds storms will strike the Louisiana -Mississippi-Alabama coast and the U.S. east coast.

It could be a long season, with a 30 percent chance of tropical storm formation in May and a 10 percent chance in December, the news release said.

The center uses an index called the Orbital Cyclone Strike Index, developed in 1984, to decide the risk faced by various areas along the coast.

Based partly on the 11-year solar activity cycle, the index has accurately predicted the area at highest risk in all but three of the last 24 years

I think if more people had a bigger understanding as to how the Suns energy influences the Earth's climate, we would not have so much confusion. If only those people in Houston could converted Al Gore to accept that the Sun can change the climate!

A follow up to a recent CO2 Sceptics News Blog Argo's cool reception recently appeared from Dennis T. Avery, a senior fellow for the Hudson Institute in Washington. The oceans have stopped warming!

Extract: -

This year of 2008 is starting out cold—but according to the "consensus" climate watchers it's still likely to be one of the "top 10 warmest" in the thermometer record before it's over. After all, the Greenhouse gasses continue to accumulate in the atmosphere.
Ice shelves prove climate change - does it?

In the Irish Independent article Ice shelves prove climate change there is a perfect example of a Climate Change Journalist (CCJ) doing his utmost to use the bad science to full effect.

This is the opening extract: -

The latest research findings from the British Antarctic Survey ( show that the Wilkins Ice Shelf (the size of Northern Ireland) is about to break from the Antarctic Peninsula because of rising temperatures due to man-made global warming.

After this the reader is then hit with....

While sceptics of man-made global warming may see this as just another example of scare-mongering by scientists, environmentalists and people with their head screwed on straight, the evidence is there to see for anyone who is open-minded enough to look. But of course, that would involve taking one's head out of the sand first.

What I do not understand with this assault on CO2 Sceptics, is that the CCJ did not make any effort to mention the general decline in World Global Temperatures since 1998. I guess if he did, he would then have to give a reason why this area of the planet has warmed whilst the rest of the Earth has cooled! The fact is the cooling we have in other parts or the world have not been reported back to the public in the same way as this location.

Its this sort of journalism that has made so many people confused on Climate Change, yes we have HAD "Climate Change Warming" it peaked in 1998, but try telling that to the CCJ, his job depends on "Man Made Climate Change", and a story involving warming pays his bills!

He seems to want you to think global warming is still going on and you will fry if you pollute the world with CO2. The fact is, we are going to resume to a lower Global Average Temperature over the next 20 years with or without Man made pollution, the Sun is the driver our climate and not man.

It would be far more informative if we could read an article from a journalist who stands up to say do not pollute the food and air we breathe, rather then say we are all going to fry as a result of Man Made pollution.

Gore's Message To Climate Change Skeptics

I have a feeling this article will be looked at in the not to distant future like Nixon's "There can be no whitewash at the White House" statements.

Al Gore is the very man who is living on a flat earth at this moment, so it goes without saying the following should be viewed as one of those very Nixon cliche's.

The following link from CBS also contains the video footage

Gore's Message To Climate Change Skeptics

Gore On Climate Naysayers (CO2 Sceptics)

Al Gore says that thinking climate change isn't manmade is like believing the moon landing was staged and that the earth is flat. He speaks to Lesley Stahl

Extracts from the CBS Link: -

(CBS) Self-avowed "P.R. agent for the planet" Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is man-made, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off," he tells Stahl.

Take time out to listen to the video footage from CBS, and ask yourself one question, are the people who follow and support "Man Made Climate Change" a new religion?

I have no doubt on the answer to that, have you?

“Dark Hour - a Sign of the Times”

Earth Hour highlights climate change issue: Wong

“Dark Hour - a Sign of the Times”

28 March 2008

“Dark Hour - a Sign of the Times”.

The Carbon Sense Coalition of Australia today came out in support of “lights out” during Earth Hour (Saturday 29th ) but claimed the time should be renamed “Dark Hour” and suggested that consumers should also forgo the consumption of gasoline and diesel during this period.

The chairman of “Carbon Sense”, Mr Viv Forbes, claimed that consumers should spend the hour they sit in the dark with no transport, air conditioning or hot coffee, remembering the contribution that carbon fuels have made to modern society.

“And while contemplating this hour of darkness, they should steel themselves for the hour when, if the Global warming alarmists have their way, this will become a necessity not a nicety.

“The only thing that lifted mankind from the Stone Age was carbon energy from coal, oil and gas – for heating; for steam power; for electricity and water; for mining, smelting and refining of metals; for transport on land, sea and air; for lighting, heating, cooling and communications; for production of food and chemicals; and for power for processing and manufacturing.

“All of this comfort, safety, convenience and prosperity is now threatened by hysterical claims that man’s carbon emissions can and should be stopped. Even though the weather records and the science deny the doomsday forecasts, the politicians, like lemmings, are leading us over the Greenhouse Cliff. Without the nuclear parachute, it will not be a pleasant fall.

“Many other countries have already experienced their own dark days, most caused by silly decisions taken to appease the Greenhouse Gods.

“If we continue down this path, we can no longer assume that electricity will come at the flick of a switch. Consumers need to learn a new vocabulary for these bad new times – “load shedding, demand management, quota allocation, rolling blackouts, brownouts, emission permits, load prioritisation, interruptible customers, emergency customers, zone rota systems, power emergency declarations, priority lines, three-day-week rationing, power outages, grid instability, electricity rationing, operating reserve, maintenance shutdowns . . . .” - all the jargon of a power system in crisis, suffering from stagnant or falling capacity and growing demand.

“One of the first places to experience power shortages was, appropriately enough, California in the early 2000’s, where Deep Greens have harassed and delayed every practical method of generating base-load power. The operating reserve margin in California is now about 5% whereas 15% is considered safe. More “Dark Hours” can be expected there. And their Green Tick solar collectors will produce 12 Dark Hours - EVERY DAY.

“Then came South Africa, which was forced to shut its big mines for several hours because of insufficient power to guarantee safe operation of the hoists. The South African government has now admitted that demand for electricity will exceed supply until 2013 – five years of dark hours are in prospect there.

“Then it was China’s turn. The Global Cooling of 2007 plus insufficient generating capacity and inadequate coal stocks caused widespread power failures. Whole regions and millions of people were forced to cope with blizzards without power for days. Power blackouts and brownouts hit 17 Chinese provinces.

“Then one day in Texas recently, the wind dropped, the whirling blades stopped turning, power supply collapsed and load shedding commenced before the old reliables of coal, nuclear or gas could pick up the slack.

“The aging European power grids are now also subject to similar disruptions from the intermittent supply from unreliable sources like wind and solar. However France has been very canny by building large nuclear capacity, then agitating for decarbonisation for their competitors. Foolish Germany got sucked into this caper, but also committed to phase out their nuclear power. It is not possible to cut both nuclear power and carbon emissions at the same time without morbid consequences. Germans can only continue this rot while their accommodating neighbours will sell them the power.

“Across Africa, the Americas and the -stans, the same problem appears – an aging power grid and an orchestrated campaign to delay and deter new power stations.

“Even here in Queensland, the coal capital of the world, a few blackouts in 2004 revealed an over-loaded and under-funded electricity grid. There may be a few more Dark Hours for us, at less convenient times.

“Australia and New Zealand both live in cuckoo land, believing they can maintain living standards in the face of population growth while drastically cutting carbon emissions and prohibiting nuclear power. Saturday’s “Dark Hour” caper may be just a practice run.

“So, let us all in Australia and New Zealand spend our “Dark Hour” thinking on the realities of life - such as where we will get the electricity, motor fuel, food and jobs for our kids and grandkids if we allow the Deep Greens to destroy our backbone industries, on the false promise that our sacrifice will improve the future climate.

To steal a phrase from my friend, Rod Bates: “On Saturday night, after they have turned off their lights, I suggest the participants in Earth Hour wander down to the nearest beach, pee into the sea and observe what effect it has on the tide.”

“This will illustrate the effect that cutting man-made carbon emissions will have on future climate.”

Additional Notes:

Both the science and the past records are indicating very strongly that man-made carbon dioxide has negligible consequences for climate change. For a very good summary of the science, by a scientist, in plain language.

Given the political momentum for the introduction of damaging policies such as Emissions Trading or Carbon Taxes, Carbon Sense repeats its call for a joint ANZ Royal Commission into the science of man-made global warming. Carbon Sense strongly believes that only through settling the science will the truth emerge.

Solar Cycle 24, has it started to do its stuff yet?
Friday, March 28th 2008, 5:14 AM EDT
Co2sceptic (Site Admin)
In the link from Space.Com Sunspots Erupt Suddenly it is of interest that the current Sun Spot Cycle (24) is not conforming in a normal and regular pattern, it seems stuck in the groove of Solar Cycle 23.

The best known Solar Weather foresting company, WeatherAction.Com who use the Suns Solar output for long range weather forecasting, could be in for a difficult time during this process.

Those of us who follow the service from Piers Corbyn are not only very impressed by his accuracy during the past 22 years with Solar Cycle 22 & 23. Piers has also demonstrated how the energy of the Sun is driving the weather systems on Earth with his weather forecasts that are produced a year in advance.

The Met Office can only blame themselves for having shortsightedness in their refusal to take the WeatherAction long range forecasts seriously. In 2007 WeatherAction clients were informed of a very rainy summer several months in advance in the UK, and the Met Office stated the complete opposite, predicting a very Hot and dry summer.

You would have thought after this very wet event the Met Office would have taken up some interest in WeatherAction, but they seem to not acknowledge the Sun as being responsible for weather patterns as they are following "Man Made Climate Change" models instead. Its little wonder when solar events happen on the Sun, the Met Office are unable to make a forecast beyond one day, let alone one week.

Many people would go as far as to say Piers has single handedly unlocked the way the solar wind from the Sun affects the climate on Earth, its more than time the Met Office used his work when predicting long range weather forecasts

On a rare note concerning WeatherAction at this time, we should apply little patience in this period of transition between solar cycle 23 to a rather troubled Solar Cycle 24.

I have no doubt when Solar Cycle 24 is up and running in a more predictable way, WeatherAction's solar wind weather forecast will also be back on track to its usual very high stadard of accuracy.

I have added this link to the above article it also mentions that Solar Cycle 23 has not finished yet!!

Argo's cool reception

The 3,000 probes that are part of the "Argo Program" to monitor the temperature of the Earths oceans launched in 2000 have returned some good news. They show no warming, in fact they show a slight cooling, but its bad news if your a global warming journalist, there is not a story to get people worked up about the doom and gloom of "Man Made Global Warming".

This story was reported in The Washington Post with the following link: -

Argo's cool reception

Updated link from INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY: -

Buoy Meets Gore

The 3,000 probes were scattered around the world's oceans and they surface approximately every 10 days, beam their data to researchers and submerge again. Although they were not the climate scientist's best equipment, they were certainly viewed as a great advance when first deployed.

The New York Times quoted one oceanographer not involved with the project in the newspaper's sole story more than seven years ago. The project, in his view, "will help figure out what it is we have to be doing in terms of greenhouse gas control."

Now, watch for the probes' findings to be questioned, or as the Washington Post went on to say "or just ignored as usual."

This is in complete contrast to the current story of an ice shelf melting in Antarctica, and yes the scientists in that location point out that this is further evidence of climate change.

How many times have they got to say the term "further evidence", we ALL know we have HAD climate change, these guys seem to want you to be informed that its still going on under the banner of "Man Made Climate Change".

If only they reported on the finding of the Argo's Program in the same way!
Global Cooling thus far, from the Hadley Center
Wednesday, March 26th 2008, 6:43 AM EDT
Co2sceptic (Site Admin)
In the news link from Paradise Post Warming crowd fears real debate there is a Global Temperature data summary from the Hadley Center.

China is reported as to having its coldest winter in 50 years and North America has had its heaviest snow cover for the same period. There are also reports of record levels of ice in the Antarctic sea and recordings of record cold temperatures in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, and Chili.

The article then quotes from the Hadley Scientists: -

"All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's, GISS, UAH, and RSS) have released updated figures showing, 'over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously,'"

We're only talking about a single year, here. Temperatures at this time are doing what temperatures have always been doing - they go down.

The Hadley Center then says

"Scientists quoted in a Daily Tech article link this cooling to reduced solar activity they say is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gasses. The dramatic cooling seen in just 12 months time enhances that position."

It goes without saying this latest cooling data, is not finding its way into the so-called mainstream media, as it will confuse those who think the world is getting hotter due to "Man Made Climate Change"

However the Hadley Center does report that warming similar to that experienced during the Medieval Climatic Optimum would not a bad thing. They then say that Agriculture experienced record yields during that early time. Corresponding cooling events such as the "Little Ice Age," though were uniformly bad news.

Is the Hadley Center hinting that global cooling could be far more disastrous than global warming?

A very good point was made in the Paradise Post: -

What should be irritating to all of us is the lack of reporting on new temperature data by the mainstream press. They were filing tons of stories on global warming, but when information from reliable institutions shows something different, they just drop the issue, and went about looking for something else to cause panic.

I think they put that very well!
Have the IPCC found a get out of jail card?

With each day that passes more and more people are starting to question the dynamics of "Man Made Climate Change", it would also appear that even the head of the IPCC is also doing the very same. The IPCC have apparently made a rather unusual announcement.

Climate facts to warm to, An Interview with Jennifer Marohasy

Extract: -

On national radio in Australia, Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs, dropped a bombshell on those who support global warming: While CO² levels have risen for the last 10 years, the Earth has cooled, and the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change knows it.

Marohasy went on to say: -

"The head of the ipcc (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has actually acknowledged it [that the Earth has cooled since 1998]. He talks about the apparent plateau in temperatures so far this century. So he recognizes that in this century, over the past eight years, temperatures have plateaued. … This is not what you’d expect, as I said, because if carbon dioxide is driving temperature then you’d expect that, given carbon dioxide levels have been continuing to increase, temperatures should be going up."

"What all the climate models suggest is that, when you’ve got warming from additional carbon dioxide, this will result in increased water vapor, so you’re going to get a positive feedback. That’s what the models have been indicating. What this great data from the nasa Aqua satellite … (is) actually showing is just the opposite, that with a little bit of warming, weather processes are compensating, so they’re actually limiting the greenhouse effect and you’re getting a negative rather than a positive feedback."

"In the interlude between presentations by the ceos of Dow Chemical and Duke Energy, for example, the audience was shown a slide … of the diverging relationship between atmospheric CO2 levels and average global temperature since 1998."

"That slide should have caused jaws to drop and audience members to ponder why anyone is considering regulating CO2 emissions in hopes of taming global climate. Instead, it was as if the audience did a collective blink and missed the slide entirely. When I tried to draw attention to the slide during my presentation, it was as if I were speaking in a foreign dialect."

"The only conclusion I could come to was that the audience is so steeped in anticipation of climate profiteering that there is no fact that will cause them to reconsider whether or not manmade global warming is a reality."

Update: -

Audio of interview:

Source: The Australian

Will the IPCC put forward that the Solar Output of the Sun will come to the rescue of the Earth, as a result of the impending global cooling?

It is nice to see them starting to wriggle, if nothing else.
'World News' Rips Scientist to Shreds for Being Global Warming 'Skeptic'

This news link is a very good example of a scientist being "rip to shreds" for standing up to the IPCC and the media, the scientist involved is DR Fred Singer.

Extract taken from link

Dr. Fred Singer was greeted like a rock star at a recent meeting of global warming skeptics,” Harris said on ABC “World News Sunday.” “This 84-year-old Princeton-trained physicist is the grandfather of a movement that rails against the broad scientific understanding that global warming is real, manmade and potentially catastrophic

'World News' Rips Scientist to Shreds for Being Global Warming 'Skeptic'

Extract taken from link: -

Reporter/anchor Dan Harris introduced Dr. Fred Singer as part of the “denial machine” and accused him of trying to create a “mirage of a scientific debate” in the face of “broad scientific understanding.”

You will also find a 30 sec video link on this report, the link goes on to say: -

Rather than giving any of Singer’s science a fair hearing, the ABC segment ignored the scientific claims he makes and instead devoted more than three minutes of its broadcast to attacking his credibility.

The full force of the media appeared to be against Dr Singer, not because they said he was was wrong, but because so many journalists have put their careers on the outcome of "Man Made Global Warming".

There will be more of these media attacks on CO2 Sceptics in the next few years from those "Man Made Climate Change Media Journalists" thats until Solar Cycle 24 plays a big part in the breakdown of their argument.

Those journalists who ride on todays gravy train will slide into oblivion for being naive and gullible enough to have been taken for a ride. The likes of Dr Singer and many other CO2 Sceptics will remain with their head held high.
