New sunspots may signal end of solar dry spell
by Rachel Courtland
New spots are beginning to break out on the face of the Sun and may signal the end of a dry spell in solar activity. Watching for more spots in the coming months could help determine how severe – and potentially damaging to Earth's satellites and power grids – the next solar cycle will be.

This headline from the Telegraph got us thinking about how do people believe in the "Green House Effect" take this sort of story seriously. We fully understand about the "Man Made" anxiety concerning an increase in global warming, but when it is a scientific fact that global warming peaked in 1998 why the doom and gloom pretence?
If this news article was printed on the 1st April (April fools day) it would have been dismissed as silly nonsense. However since it's not the 1st of April why are these scare tactics being employed when there is overwhelming evidence to support "Man Made Climate Change" is a lie. The editor of this newspaper and other established media publications should face up to their responsibilities and put an end to this style of reporting, they should save it for a day like April fools day.

I have just received this and am very grateful for it. … ..a self-critical piece from within the IPCC ‘community’. Do you notice any ‘influence’(from the ‘sceptics?)?
It is written by Ann Henderson-Sellers, a long-time climate modeller and activists. (No Hansen, however).

Westminster candidate criticises wind farm subsidies
A SCOTTISH Conservative candidate who was suspended in a row over race has become embroiled in a fresh controversy over climate change. Philip Lardner, the Tories' Westminster candidate in North Ayrshire and Arran, said the link between carbon emissions and global warming was being exaggerated by "doom sayers" and a self-interested "climate change lobby".

Prominent Geologist Declares Global Warming 'is now over' - 'We have entered into a new global cooling period'
by Dr. Don Easterbrook, Professor of Geology at Western Washington University
In a Geological Society of America abstract, Dr. Don Easterbrook, Professor of Geology at Western Washington University, presents data showing that the global warming cycle from 1977 to 1998 is now over and we have entered into a new global cooling period that should last for the next three decades. He also suggests that since the IPCC climate models are now so far off from what is actually happening that their projections for both this decade and century must be considered highly unreliable.

States & Utilities Unite to Rob Energy Consumers
by Alan Caruba
Energy consumers in ten northeastern States are going to see their bills rise and probably not even know why. They will assume that it is tied to the cost of oil, natural gas, or coal, but it does so only obliquely.

An interesting point was highlighted in a recent letter Cycle just might be cooling trend
, this went on to say "warming/cooling on earth and warming/cooling on Mars". We thought you might like to see an article from the National Geographic News dated February 28, 2007 so you can see for yourself as to why this point was made, and yes there is another mention of "world wide cooling" concerning the Solar Output of the Sun!

Will the Real Hockey Stick Please Stand Up?
by Jeff Id
I won’ t abuse you with my venting today. Mostly pictures. Pretty interesting ones I think. I used the CPS method today with actual proxies from M08. Instead of the infilled data with the fake hockey stick glued on the end I used the original original 1357 series before processing. I also chopped off the 95 Luterbacher series which aren’t really proxies, they are temperature. It didn’t make any big difference to the shape of graphs in my results but I don’t like em.
