The catastrophe behind climate change
by Christopher Booker
As the estimated cost of measures proposed by politicians to "combat global warming" soars ever higher - such as the International Energy Council's $45 trillion - "fighting climate change" has become the single most expensive item on the world's political agenda.
As Senators Obama and McCain vie with the leaders of the European Union to promise 50, 60, even 80 per cent cuts in "carbon emissions", it is clear that to realise even half their imaginary targets would necessitate a dramatic change in how we all live, and a drastic reduction in living standards.

Sarah Palin: Global Warming Not Man-Made
ABC News’ Rick Klein Reports: Among the issues Sen. John McCain will have to smooth over with his new running mate: global warming.
In an interview for the September issue of the conservative magazine Newsmax, Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, said she does not believe climate change is caused by human behavior.

Activity is quiet on the sunspot front ...
by Mark S. Lawson
Who has noticed that the period 2014-2015 keeps on turning up in the debate on greenhouse science? For that is when greenhouse proponents say the long-delayed global warming apocalypse will start happening. In addition, that general date has turned up in forecasts made by an arch sceptic, and two researchers in the US have forecast that sunspot activity will cease entirely by 2014.
As the two sides do not agree on anything else at all this is odd - odd enough to be worth exploring.

Mayor reveals climate change plan
Londoners must use less water and plant more trees to prevent climate change from damaging the quality of life in the capital, the mayor has said.
Boris Johnson said measures were needed to combat the danger of increased flooding, droughts and heatwaves.
They included more water metering, more green spaces to "cool" the city and steps to reduce leaks from water mains.

Proof that anthropogenic CO2 is not accumulating
by Alan Siddons
By current estimates, man is pumping about 4 ppm of CO2 into the air every year. But the atmospheric level is rising only 2 ppm every year. Theory has it, then, that half of human emissions are presently getting absorbed by so-called carbon sinks, thereby cutting the net emission in half every year.
Yet if half of human emissions stay in the air and the other half goes elsewhere, this proves that anthropogenic CO2 is not accumulating — the reason being that absorption is an ongoing process. A 50% reduction factor cannot be applicable only once. The next year would naturally see a further reduction. And so forth.

Stop the war on poor families
by Niger Innis
As Democratic Party delegates gather in Denver, America is repeatedly being told that we must transform our economy to “green” energy.
Our future is in wind and solar, liberal Democrats and environmental activists insist. Oil, gas, coal and nuclear must go.

Households paying £800 too much in green taxes
by James Kirkup, Political Correspondent
Households are paying hundreds of pounds more in "green taxes" than is justified by the environmental cost of their carbon emissions, a new study claims today.
The Taxpayers' Alliance has calculated that every household in the UK is paying as much as £800 a year more in environmental taxes than is necessary.

GLOBAL WARMING EVERY 1,500 YEARS–WHAT IT MEANS FOR ENGINEERING
by DENNIS T. AVERY
Hysteria over global warming has gripped the affluent countries of the world.
-Climate modelers claim the earth’s temperature could be boosted an astounding 11 degrees C by the additional CO2 being released into the atmosphere as humans burn fossil fuels.
-Dozens of major governments have signed the Kyoto Protocol, which essentially promises their countries will give up all “non-renewable” energy sources— virtually all energy sources except solar and wind.

New Report Blames Solar Winds for Temperature Change
by Bob Ellis
reports on new evidence
from Fred Singer, an atmospheric and space physicist, which points to solar activity as the cause of any warming on planet earth.
There is now little doubt that solar-wind variability [streams of ionized gases that radiate out from the sun] is the primary cause of climate change on a decadal time scale,” Singer said.
But what about statements from the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which claim anthropogenic global warming is real?
