Canadian Geologist: ‘Atmospheric CO2 is the product, not the cause of the climate change’ - Climate change science isn't settled

by Jan Veizer, a distinguished university professor of geology (emeritus) at the University of Ottawa and has researched the use of chemical and isotopic techniques in determining Earth's climatic history.

MANY people think the science of climate change is settled. It isn't. And the issue is not whether there has been an overall warming during the past century. There has, although it was not uniform and none was observed during the past decade. The geologic record provides us with abundant evidence for such perpetual natural climate variability, from icecaps reaching almost to the equator to none at all, even at the poles.

The climate debate is, in reality, about a 1.6 watts per square metre or 0.5 per cent discrepancy in the poorly known planetary energy balance.

We have received a few emails concerning our comments on Bloggers Tackle Global Warming Questions, we said at the time...Many people say to us how can the experts have it so wrong about CO2 and a warmer world, the answer to that is, the science of climate change did not exist at the time of the first analysis and was improvised with data that supports the "effect" of change" and NOT the "cause" of change. It is a classic case of a misdiagnosis of "cause and effect" with the "effect" being labeled the "cause".....This issue has appeared again recently from the JenniferMarohasy.Com site.

CENTRAL to discussion of climate change models is the concept of “forcing” and “feedback”. So, reference is made to global warming from radiative “forcing” from elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide in the troposphere and then “positive feedback from water vapour”, adding to global warming.

Everyone talks in these terms, and it is politically correct to do so. But there are two problems.

(CNSNews.com) - A scientist who tracks levels of ice and snow in the Arctic Ocean told CNSNews.com Monday that there is a “correlation” between the receding ice in the Arctic Sea and man-made global warming caused by the greenhouse effect.

But Dr. Walter Meier, a cryosphere scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) in Boulder, Colo., admits he can’t prove that the link is cause-and-effect.

“The thing that’s very clear is that the sea ice changes that we are seeing go hand in hand with the warming temperature that we’ve seen, particularly in the Arctic and around the globe,” Meier told CNSNews.com.

It's nice to feel your not the only blogging site who promotes an anti "Man Made Climate Change" campaign. Take time out to look at this YouTube concerning sites like ours, it has some very good points to make. Each time we find an article to promote on ClimateRealists.Com we feel that much closer to the end game.

Greenhouse Theory Disproved a Century Ago

The claim that carbon dioxide (CO2) can increase air temperatures by "trapping" infrared radiation (IR) ignores the fact that in 1909 physicist R.W. Wood disproved the popular 19th Century thesis that greenhouses stayed warm by trapping IR. Unfortunately, many people who claim to be scientists are unaware of Wood's experiment which was originally published in the Philosophical magazine , 1909, vol 17, p319-320.

Wood was an expert on IR. His accomplishments included inventing both IR and UV (ultraviolet) photography. Wood constructed two identical small greenhouses. The description implies the type of structure a gardener would refer to as a "coldframe" rather than a building a person could walk into.
