This being my first post, you should save it. It could one day become valuable. When thinking about what to write for an openner, I was reminded of the 1988 film, Short Circuit, with the robot Johnny Five that had been struck by lightning and developed human reasoning and a thirst for knowledge.
The phrase "Stephanie, need more input!" as he went through books and watched TV, was repeated several times. That is akin to my approach to climate science. It started small with contacts developed through the Friends of Science in Calgary
, Alberta, Canada and progressed as more information became available. I joined online discussion groups, some more disappointing than others and subscribed to internet news networks dedicated to the subject. It was like being a dry sponge.
I responded to scientists on both sides of the "debate" asking questions where I found voids. A common thread was that my questions to the sceptics of man-made warming were graciously accepted whereas the warmers were defensive about any questions that even suggested that I needed more convincing. Warmers frequently tried to foist an argument on me that was clearly suspect and when pressed got even more desparate.
