How the mighty fall! This story from the Times by Maurice Chittenden made us all smile at CO2Sceptics.Com and we hope you can share the same emotion. There is a proposed Opera scheduled for 2011 and it's meant to be a serious way to show the public the dangers of "Man Made Climate Change".
We have a sneaky suspicion that this production will either be scrapped by 2011 or the public will be more informed as to what is in fact changing our climate. How about an opera for Holsts Planet suit by Jerry Spinger you could have the Sun as the giver of life and the Earth as the only planet that spins on politics and not gravity.

THE home of grand opera will soon be staging a different kind of tragedy. La Scala in Milan has commissioned a musical version of An Inconvenient Truth, the apocalyptic eco-documentary presented by Al Gore, the former American vice-president.
Gore will be replaced on stage by a cast of tenors and at least one soprano as the story of man-made climate change is told. The makers believe this format will be more suited to the 230-year-old opera house than the graph-heavy lectures given by Gore in his Oscar-winning 2006 film.

According to the Guardian, whatever CO2 Sceptics say, the Guardian and the IPCC are correct. The article is called "Climate of Suspicion" by Fred Pearce. It suffers, in that "Deniers", are supposed to deny the existence of Global Warming. However there is just a small point to make here, we and the vast amount of CO2 Sceptics can assure Fred Pearce and the Guardian that we do in fact acknowledge Global Warming, it finished in 1998!
So its heads they win and tails we lose.

The deniers of global warming are about to latch on to a new argument. The world is cooling. And they are right - well, slightly.
Globally, this year is likely to be the coolest for some time - back to the average of the early 90s, according to some unpublished forecasts. This is no refutation of man-made global warming. It is the inevitable consequence of one of nature's climatic cycles. The La Niña, the cold phase of the El Niño cycle in the Pacific, has sent average global temperatures plunging this year.
And there is more. Longer term climate cycles that play out over a decade or so will also be working to cool us in the coming decade. In particular, changes in the currents of the north Atlantic - which have caused Europe to warm more than anywhere else in the past decade and helped melt all that Arctic ice - are about to go into reverse.

This is from The Northern Echo and is the Leader column from Owen Amos, its a fascinating read and takes you through the cold snaps in England to the wet summer of 2008. Owen points out this is all normal variability in the weather.
Extract: -
Whatever happened to global cooling?
What do scientists know about global warming? In the 1970s, they predicted a coming ice age, right? Not quite. Owen Amos discovers why experts soon weren't so hot on the idea.
"The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin Engines stop running, but I have no fear 'Cause London is drowning and I live by the river." - London Calling, by The Clash (1979)
THE warning is stark. "There are ominous signs that the earth's weather patterns have begun to change dramatically," the article says. "And that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production - with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The regions destined to feel its impact are the great wheatproducing lands of Canada and the USSR in the north, along with a number of marginally selfsufficient tropical areas - parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indochina, and Indonesia. The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologists are hard-pressed to keep up with it."

The politics of Climate Change dictate that the poor will not be able to contribute "Green Tax" without incurring a personal level of inflation exceeding that of the more wealthy. This two tear economy will mean that it's inevitable the poor will become poorer, and all in the name and madness concerning "Man Made Climate Change".
This article is from The Wall Street Journal by James Inhoff.

With average gas prices across the country approaching $4 a gallon, it may be hard to believe, but the U.S. Senate is considering legislation this week that will further drive up the cost at the pump.
The Senate is debating a global warming bill that will create the largest expansion of the federal government since FDR's New Deal, complete with a brand new, unelected bureaucracy. The Lieberman-Warner bill (America's Climate Security Act) represents the largest tax increase in U.S. history and the biggest pork bill ever contemplated with trillions of dollars in giveaways. Well-heeled lobbyists are already plotting how to divide up the federal largesse. The handouts offered by the sponsors of this bill come straight from the pockets of families and workers in the form of lost jobs, higher gas, power and heating bills, and more expensive consumer goods.

I think its best if we give you link and extract on this rather than have anything to say.

The Very Rev Gordon Mursell, claimed people who refuse to face the truth about global warming were as “guilty as” Fritzl of destroying the future of youngsters. The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a Birmingham-based national charity that specialises in safeguarding children from sexual abuse, said it could understand why the bishop was making the comparison but people could find it “outrageous and offensive”. And the bishop’s spokesman said there was a need for senior clergy to speak out or be regarded as being too afraid to tackle controversial issues. In a hard-hitting letter to parishioners, Bishop Mursell maintained those who refused to accept the climate change argument shared a “common philosophy of life” to Fritzl, who imprisoned his daughter in a cellar for 24 years during which he sexually abused her and fathered her seven children.

This is a short and direct letter to the editor of the Tennessean by Kenneth Ray Brentwood concerning the warming of some of the planets in our solar system taking place at the same time as Earth.
Extract: -
To the Editor:
Last week, NASA released data indicating that Jupiter is undergoing “large-scale climate change, as the giant planet is getting warmer near the equator.” That makes at least four of the nine planets in our solar system that appear to be warming, Mars, Pluto and, of course, Earth having already been reported as doing so.

This article was from the Yorshire Post by Bill Carmichael, he has the following to say about 'Green Tax'.
Extract: -
SO-CALLED "green" taxes are a con.
They have absolutely nothing to do with saving the planet, or changing people's behaviour. It is all about raising revenue.
Governments around the world have realised that environmentalism gives them an easy way of squeezing yet more tax out of hard-working people.
And if you object, you are supposed to feel guilty about drowning polar bears.

In The Observer the above article by Ruth Sunderland reminded us of the dilemma the chancellor of the exchequer has in bringing the "Green Tax" in, this would be a very unpopular thing to do, and since the "New Labour" government is trying to win votes this may be put on hold. The article did not go on to say why people would be reluctant to pay this tax. could it be total disbelief about "Man Made Climate Change"?
Extract: -
The really big problem, though, for Chancellor Alistair Darling is suspicion about the Treasury's true motives. In a recent poll, more than seven out of 10 voters said they were not willing to pay higher taxes to fund climate-change projects, and most believe levies on Chelsea tractors, plastic bags and the like are just a smokescreen for a good old-fashioned tax grab. In the business world, a survey of manufacturers by the EEF found that only 16 per cent of firms think green taxes are the most effective measure for changing their behaviour.

In the Spectator, Melanie Phillips gives a very good account of Lawrence Solomon book 'The Deniers'.
Extract: -
Now he has written a book, provocatively entitled The Deniers, in which he shows that not only is the fabled climate change ‘consensus’ itself a sham but the so-called MMGW ‘deniers’ are by far the more accomplished and distinguished scientists than those pushing the theory as a settled and incontrovertible truth. A number of them indeed, are so eminent they were used as experts by the IPCC – but then came to realise that this was an innately corrupted process and that even some of their own work was being abused and distorted in order to promulgate the false doctrine of MMGW.

In the Saturday Essay from the Daily Mail
The REAL inconvenient truth Nigel Lawson made a very good point concerning the "why are they saying its not the Sun puzzle". What do I mean by that? If we assume there is a reason why the public are being lied to by
The Worlds Government, then why?
