The first sensible move which should be made to cut down on public expenditure would be to scrap the discredited Climate Change Commission for Wales. I can't be the only one who finds it surreal that in this snow-bound, icy December 2010, when we've witnessed two severe winters within one calendar year, Peter Davies of the CCCW writes to a North Wales newspaper warning us of the severe dangers of global warming.
For once, the cliched question needs asking: what planet is he on? I object to having my taxes squandered on the idiotic pseudo-science expounded by these parrot-like public servants. CCCW officials should all be out there clearing snow from the roads and pavements instead of being paid megasalaries telling us how warm the planet is getting and being treated to luxurious five-star, free holidays under the palm trees of Cancun, Mexico, at our expense.
As farmers in Scotland, england and Wales struggle hourly, seven days a week with the severe elements to produce milk and tend their livestock, these pampered civil servants enjoy at least a fortnight off, thinking up more global warming rubbish to tell us in the new year. This severe winter is not only affecting europe. America, as far south as the Mexican border, is also suffering record cold weather, as evidenced on the brilliant iceagenow.com.
I warned five years ago that a severe UK winter was imminent. It was long overdue -- and it won't go away easily.
