The above is an extract from the Piers Corbyn February Earthquake chart published in January, the period 14th - 16th February was highlighted as a Top Red Warning (5) period, as
per note from Piers Corbyn...

Timings of Red Warnings
The quake risk (trial) current R5 is as shown 14-16 Feb. The weather R5 (of most enhanced frontal activity, snow/rain, thunder-tornado events) is on this occasion 15-17th Feb. All dates in GMT (=UTC)
Quakes and Hemisphere of Quake(+Volcano) action
The first R5 of the month 1-3 Feb South hemisphere preferred was superbly confirmed with eg M7.1 Vanuatu (S Pacific)and the M6+(ie 2)quakes being in South Hemisphere and the M5+(14) quakes being 1(N) and 13(S). See:

This R5 (NH preferred), for its first day 14th Feb,
M5+ have been 5(N) & 3(S) and within that M6+ have been 1(36 deg N as mentioned above) which was then followed by 1(10 deg S). It appears that so far N H is preferred, certainly that NH is much more in evidence than in the previous R5 which was clearly S dominated as expected.
Solar Action

It appears that on 15th a coronal hole will be ~centre of solar disc and solar active region AR17 just above (as you see it) the centre; AR1419 (formerly very active AR1402*) will be just above centre as you see it ~17th. *See:
