The recent letter “Saving the Earth is the Most Important Political Issue,” is fraught with unbacked claims and the stereotypical fear pushing claims of global warming extremists.
Although the earth is indeed warming in various parts, as a whole the globe is stable and on its usual warming and cooling cycle that began over 900,000 years ago.

Global warming alarmists claim that new carbon dioxide levels are causing record temperatures around the world. However, records from 1940 to 1970 indicate rising CO2 levels paired with lowering temperatures.
Also, temperatures in the arctic were warmer during the 1930s. And from 1986 to 2000, arctic temperatures dropped 0.7 C.
The melting glaciers and sea ice commonly plastered across magazine covers are from the Antarctic Peninsula that accounts for only 2% of the continent. Elsewhere on the continent, glaciers and sea ice have increased.
General consensus will conclude that these data are paid by oil and gas companies. However, most alarmists fail to realize that the modern global warming movement is also a multibillion dollar industry with its own agenda.
Most scientists today are not certain of the existence of global warming, and even more attribute it to natural causes. What the public needs to be informed of is that the earth and its climate is a dynamic process and changes will always happen whether man exists or not. Unfortunately, most global warming alarmists simply treat change as something to fear. Yet for most of the creatures of this humble planet, change is what brings life and new opportunities to flourish and exist.
