There have been a lot of hits on this article recently because I have been giving the link to help people get quickly to KEY matters and advising that the RED BOLD items in my Comments are the most important.
Here are two more:
WAnews31 on very important successful prediction of the summer heatwave in West Russia AND the end of it and the end of super-deluges in Pakistan due to Jet stream shifts predicted by our Solar Lunar Action Technique http://www.weatheraction.com/docs/WANews10No31.pdf
Link to enable you to buy forecasts - no apology for advert since ALL our forecasting and research and advances depend on forecast sales. http://www.weatheraction.com/member.asp
NB The USA & World extreme events are available via the Extreme Events Rest Of World option.

I'd prefer not to comment further when it is clear that malign interpretations will be placed on my comments however carefully and respectfully I try to word them.

Climate Fools Day news - first bit - and more to follow elsewhere on CR
As on twitter (Piers_Corbyn) Bob Ward is spin above substance -
You mention "Bob Ward said the group (ClimateSense) misunderstood the point of science, which is to disprove theories.… http://disq.us/q7iu8

I posted the comment below elsewhere on CR - part of debate around Prof Joanna Haigh's presentation in Imperial College on Tue 16th Nov 2010, and re-posted here as a redbold item because it summarizes key aspects of the debate.
(In reply to Stephen Wilde)
Stephen,
I am glad you are not a 'top-down' supporter. My points at IC were of course addressed to Prof Joanna Haigh not you; although you had been associating yourself with things she had said so that clarification is good.
The DIFFERENCE between solar proton and UV effects on stratospheric ozone and knock-on effects were put forward by us (WeatherAction/me) in various international presentations back in 1996 and beyond as an example of what we called a SAM - Solar Activity Magnifier process.
No observations or theories trouble me. What does trouble me is 'spin' eg as put forward by Global Warmists & their apologists.
Notwithstanding many useful comments & observations you make, your propositions about jet stream shifts and tropopause height seem to be a bit of a stretch.
Jet stream changes are very rapid and respond to solar storms within 12 hours of events on the Sun and the general changes are a long-term summed up consequence of these solar-MAGNETIC-LUNAR modulated events. It is this understanding which enables us (Weather Action using my Solar Lunar Action Technique) to explain/predict: - odd-numbered solar cycles are warmer on earth than even cycles.
- The 60 year envelope cycle (PDO) in world temperatures;
- Specific events like the the West Russia heatwave in summer and WHEN (to the day) it would break down and the parallel super deluges in Pakistan end. See Wa2010newsno31 - http://www.weatheraction.com/displayarticle.asp?a=232&c=1
for dramatic video links to solar, ionospheric and consequent jet stream action.
- Make detailed weather forecasts and corrections to standard meteorology and climate forecasts on all time scales from days to decades ahead.
All observations and observed associations or correlations are helpful but no theory of sun-earth-weather links will work without including magnetic & lunar effects.
References to these points are available via the CR article and Comments "World cooling has...." (link in my comment above).
Presentations + Video of what I & others gave at our Climate Fools Day meeting in Parliament Oct 27th will soon be available.

Continuing this thread as a record and pointer to some key notes in the historic fight against the Global Warmers dogma a reference to my submission to the UK Parliamentary Transport Select committee into the snow + cold crisis of Dec 2010 is useful.
The documents - statement plus 5 supporting documents - I submitted include a special update presentation pptpdf.

Citizens,
As warned the 'straw-man' Galactic Cosmic Ray theory is getting another boost and being swallowed - we hope temporarily- by people who should know better. See

It's nice to see this long-lived thread coming alive again. I recommend having a look at the new debate on Svensmark's ideas extended to long time scales and super novae etc.
Svensmark's work makes a welcome break from the total delusionism of the CO2 sect but just does not work and suffers from confusing cause and affect on two fronts:
(i) Galactic Cosmic Rays which are inverse proxies for solar activity and are provably NOT significant agents of sun-earth connection;
(ii) Increases in Supernovae activity in parts of The Galaxy which are a consequence of increases in interstellar dust (or more precisely the earth experiences more nearby supernovae when it is on a spiral arm or galactic plane dust region) and so are a proxy for local dust between the sun and the earth. The supernovae activity is a local dust proxy not a significant climate controller itself because the basic mechanism (i) for GCR to influence weather does not work anyway.
