The Piers Corbyn
22nd -24th April R4 Solar Climate Change Forecast looks as if it has ended in a spectacular way, he has also picked up a very active geomagnetic storm that fell at the end of this period, normally these storms are made known a day or so in advance, but it looks as if it has taken many observers by complete surprise!
To recap Piers Corbyn had a
Volcanic eruption plus a M6.6 Earthquake he also had a rare and very "
Powerful Cold Storm" that hit the North Eastern USA.
I'm not one to "join up the dots" etc. but he did say this period was going to be an active time, and as you can see it was!

YES Getting an M6.6 (ie M6.5+) and a major volcano in the 21-24th (narrow definition no leeway) QV window rather than other times outside the window(s) was good
Significantly there was also ON 21st - THE DAY of the major Quake - a clear Coronal hole pair at/near the earth-facing central longitude of the solar disc.

The pics show this CH is much clearer on 21st than eg 20th. (NB when looking at the pics be careful to watch for missing and repeat pics).
The fact Space-Weather.com don't see that one as 'large' is not that important because the CH pair is just part of the sun-solar wind-earth connection involved, the key thing is that it was there at that time.
Same-day EF (Earth-facing) CH &/or EF notably active regions have characterized (nearly) all major predicted quakes.
Note in this case the QV period was 21-24th, slightly different from the weather R4 period which was 22-24th.
The Geomagnetic activity and the extreme weather in N/NE USA are in line with the 22-24th R4 weather period along with heavy blasts of rain and wind etc in UK and other parts of world.
HOWEVER we didn't get extra tornadoes in USA and do not know why the set-up wasn't quite there for them.
We were and still are attempting to distinguish between large scale events eg this period - the storm in N/NE USA and a corresponding well organised cyclonic situation in UK+Ire - and more localized tornado events, which depend on atmospheric circulation structures and may not occur together.
It might be that the reported approach to some magnetic log-jam (our phrase) on the sun - ie a magnetic quadrupole (or at least something on those lines) expected IN MAY can/will
(i) Explain the lack of tornadoes over 22-24th
(ii) Ensure relatively slow-moving Maunder-Dalton type COLD cyclonic situations in UK/ North Sea/ Scandinavia during MAY
