The Daily Bell is pleased to present this exclusive interview with Dr. S. Fred Singer.
Introduction: Dr. S. Fred Singer (Siegfried Fred Singer) is an American atmospheric physicist, professor emeritus of environmental science at the University of Virginia and president of the Science and Environmental Policy Project, which he founded in 1990. Dr. Singer is a prolific author, having published more than 200 technical papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as editorial essays and articles that have appeared in leading publications. Front-cover stories appearing in Time, Life and US News & World Report have featured his accomplishments. Dr. Singer is author, coauthor or editor of more than a dozen books and monographs and has given hundreds of lectures and seminars on global warming, including to the science faculties at Stanford University, University of California-Berkeley and many others. He is elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Geophysical Union, American Physical Society, and American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Daily Bell: Good to meet you. Please give us some background. Where did you grow up and go to school?
Fred Singer: I grew up in Vienna, Austria, left school at the age of 13 and apprenticed at an optical machine shop. I left in 1939, crossing the border into Holland the same day Hitler marched into Czechoslovakia, on March 15, 1939. I continued to England and worked as a teenage optician in Northumberland. I joined my parents in Ohio in 1940, shortly after the London Blitz had started and after the evacuation of British troops from Dunkirk.

The President offered up nothing more than the usual incorrect global warming platitudes during his speech. No wonder the speech brought a "smile" to Al Gore's face. The president could not have been more wrong in claiming “extreme weather” was “now more frequent and intense" and he failed to note that global temperatures have not increased in 16 years.
Climate Depot's Point-by-Point rebuttal:
President Obama: 'But for the sake of our children and our future, we must do more to combat climate change'
Climate Depot Reaction: Our children do not need politicians in Washington posturing and pretending they can control global temperatures and make storms less severe or less frequent. See: Climatologist Dr. Tim Ball: 'Future generations will curse why we allowed a few political bullies to undermine development & progress with the false claim that human CO2 is causing climate change' Future generations 'will wonder how people could write such misinformed, hysterical, commentary.'
MIT's Dr. Lindzen: "Future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early 21st century's developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of a degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age.'

Much of the UK will be covered with a thick blanket of snow today as a weather system from the Atlantic sweeps in bringing up to 6in (15cm) in places.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for much of Scotland and northern England for today, advising people to be careful in the icy conditions and low temperatures.......It is further proof that spring could still be a long way off as forecasters warn Britain faces another month of Arctic conditions.
The snow is caused by a band of rain moving in from the Atlantic early today will turn into snow across much of England and Scotland.
Nick Prebble, a forecaster with MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: 'There will be snow across much of England and Scotland, and it will settle through the Midlands, the North and Scotland....Helen Roberts of the Met Office said: ‘It will be drier but colder for the next 30 days. If there is any precipitation it is more likely to fall as snow.’...click source for more inc. great photo's

As expected Cyclone "Gino" has hit CAT2, and it also happened at the start of the February "R5" Period. It looks to be placed in a safe part of the Ocean away from high populated areas, and unlike the recent Cyclones that have gone to this level and upwards, I'm glad to report the long term forecast for this is to dissipate sooner then later...more to follow....image via TropicalStormRisk.com

Filament Eruption- SpaceWeather.com: Solar activity is low, but not zero. During the early hours of Feb. 13th, a magnetic filament erupted near the sun's SW limb. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the blast.
The extreme UV movie shows the filament flinging itself into space followed by the formation of a "canyon of fire" marking the channel formerly occupied by the filament. The glowing walls of the canyon are formed in a process closely related to that of arcade loops, which appear after many solar flares.
As erupting magnetic filaments often do, this one launched a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. NASA's STEREO-A spacecraft spotted the expanding cloud, which does not appear to be heading for Earth or any other planet...click source for more [VIDEO Link]

(
Fast Forward to 26:00 for Andrew Bolt and Craig Emerson Debate)
Attention Craig Emerson, Minister for Trade in the government which gave us the carbon tax.
Last week you claimed I was wrong to say the world hadn’t warmed for 16 years.
So I showed you even the IPCC couldn’t find any measurement showing any statistically significant warming for around that period.
You refused to apologise or retract.
So I showed you an easy-to-read graphic showing no statistically significant warming for between nearly 16 years and 23 years, depending on the measurement used.
You refused to apologise or retract.
Today I will try again. Professor Sinclair Davidson has recalculated the temperature of the past 18 years using HADCRUT3 data and agrees: from 1995 to the present there has been no statistically-significant global warming.
Craig, will you now apologise and retract?

As expect in our blog yesterday we have a Tropical Storm that has "powered up" to a CAT1 Cyclone. Looking at the latest projection from TropicalStormRisk.com "Gino" should hit CAT2 any time soon indicating a high level of Solar Activity in the Earth's system, and just by a strange coincidence the timing of this event should fall inside the Piers Corbyn "R5" period, 13th - 17th February.
Tropical Storms have been used to display an Earthly presence of Solar Activity on this site for over a year, each time we have shown this indicator the media and science community have fallen over themselves to contact Piers Corbyn about his forecasting methods but It would appear they don't have his contact details
I suggest they go to his web site WeatherAction.com and interview him before he dies of old age and the secret of Solar Activity and climate change is lost forever....more to follow

12 February 2013 - A programme of world-class research on how to avoid dangerous climate change was hailed as a success today, as the project reaches completion.
AVOID was established by the UK Government in 2009 to provide scientific advice on a series of key questions on the impacts of dangerous climate change and how they can be avoided.
Led by the Met Office, the research included a multi-disciplinary network of scientists from the Walker Institute at the University of Reading, Grantham Institute for Climate Change at Imperial College and the Tyndall Centre through the University of East Anglia, along with other national and international collaborators.
The project was undertaken with Government stakeholders involved from the earliest stages to ensure research priorities and timescales remained aligned with policy needs.
Today around 100 people gathered in London for the final conference to discuss the key findings of the project, the impact of those findings, and potential for future research.
Key findings from the project which were highlighted at the event include:

DOCTOR Karl Kruszelnicki presents science on the ABC. Dr Craig Emerson is a Minister in the Government that makes you pay a carbon tax.
So the two should at least know the basic data about global warming.
Alas.
Dr Kruszelnicki, one of Australia's "National Living Treasures", last week tweeted in outrage: "How does A Bolt get away with saying planet hasn't warmed in the last 16 years."
Dr Emerson, the Trade Minister, replied: "Mr Bolt can have his own opinions but he can't have his own facts. Global temperatures are rising. Fact."
"Fact", Craig?
This wouldn't be serious if Dr Kruszelnicki wasn't helping to promote a great scare that our gases are frying the world, and Dr Emerson wasn't a member of the Government making us spend billions to "stop" it. Let me try to explain.
