A full analysis of satellite-measured lower tropospheric temperatures indicates that none of the global temperature variations from 1978 to 2008 can be attributed to the effect of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas. The record shows global climate oscillations with a period of three to five years and a peak-to-peak amplitude of 0.4 to 0.5 degrees Celsius about a common, fixed mean temperature that lasted from 1978 to 1997. Since this mean temperature did not change for twenty years the late twentieth century warming touted by IPCC and others simply did not happen.
The cause of these newly discovered climate oscillations is large-scale periodic movement of ocean waters from shore to shore, part of the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) system. It is accompanied by a massive, periodic transfer of heat from the oceans to the atmosphere and back again which was previously unsuspected and which is detectable even in land-based records. This major atmospheric phenomenon is missing from all IPCC Global Circulation Models (GCMs) and thereby invalidates conclusions drawn from their climate models. Satellite records show that this oscillatory period ended with a giant warming peak known as the “super El Nino of 1998.”

Today's alarmist headline from Reuters: "Global warming seen worse than predicted."
Here is the story behind the headline:
The climate is heating up far faster than scientists had predicted, spurred by sharp increases in greenhouse gas emissions from developing countries like China and India, a top climate scientist said on Saturday.
But wait! The earth has cooled since 1998, so the statement that it is "heating up faster" is plainly false. What's going on here?

"Where's the evidence?" - Scientist slams Engineers 'Climate Change' report as "alarmist self-serving nonsense"
AND Recent Snow deluges in UK & USA and hurricane level winter storm in USA explained by Solar activity and related sudden changes in the stratosphere.
The 'Climate Change' report* issued Frid 13 Feb by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers is "alarmist self-serving nonsense and I challenge them to produce a shred of evidence in observed data over the last 20,000 years that CO2 drives world temperatures or Climate Change" says Piers Corbyn astrophysicist of WeatherAction long range weather and climate forecasters.

President Barack Obama's nominee for director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy faces limited criticism at confirmation hearing.
Faced with daunting challenges ranging from economic turmoil to global climate change, President Barack Obama's administration plans to "play a crucial role" in promoting policies aimed at deploying science and technology in ways that will "turn those challenges into opportunities," John P. Holdren told a U.S. Senate committee Thursday.

‘If the choice is wash your clothes in the ditch or put in electricity that’s generated by a coal-fired power plant so that you can actually buy a washing machine, most people are going to build the coal-fired power plant’
WASHINGTON – Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Joe Barton, R-Texas, today made the following statement during the Energy and Environment Subcommittee hearing entitled, “The Climate Challenge: National Security Threats and Economic Opportunities”:
“I am skeptical that mankind is causing global warming. I do agree that the climate is changing – that’s self-evident. But because I’m a registered professional engineer, I have a problem with finding that mankind is the cause after I look at all the evidence of the past cycles to see what’s different from this one. The expert IPCC models, unless they’ve miraculously improved them in the last four months, don’t even do a very good job of predicting the past. Half the time they get the degree of change and direction wrong even though they know all the factors exactly. Maybe that’s changed some in the last six months and maybe some of these witnesses can educate me on that.

A Catholic charity has launched a scathing attack on the Green movement, describing the excesses of environmentalism as an ideology every bit as dangerous as Communism.
While global warming should be a "crucial issue" for the Church, worshippers must be deeply sceptical about many of the claims made by the environmentalist lobby, a new booklet published by the bishops of England and Wales has said.

Northern Ireland's Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has blocked a government advertisement campaign on climate change.
The advertisements urged people to reduce energy consumption and cut carbon dioxide output.
Mr Wilson said the Scottish executive had objected to the advertisements and stopped them being broadcast.
He said the adverts were part of an "insidious propaganda campaign" which would not be imposed on people in NI.
Mr Wilson said they were "giving people the impression that by turning off the standby light on their TV they could save the world from melting glaciers and being submerged in 40ft of water".

An article published in early February 2009 by Jonathan Leake, the environment editor of The Times of London, said “The ice caps are melting so fast that the world’s oceans are rising more than twice as fast as they were in the 1970s.” The Times said that “scientists” had used satellites “to track how the oceans are responding as billions of gallons of water reach them from melting ice sheets and glaciers”, an effect “compounded by thermal expansion".
The article said that in the past 15 years “sea levels have been rising at 3.4mm a year, much faster than the average 1.7mm recorded by tidal gauges over the past 50 years.” A scientist was quoted as saying, “This rate, observed since the early 1990s, could reflect an acceleration linked to global warming.” The article added that figures from the UK Meteorological Office suggested that sea level in the tidal reaches of the River Thames could rise by as much as 6ft 6in by 2100.

I wrote the following article and I would like to have it get a little more exposure than just a letter to the editor in the local newspaper. The problem with the global warming theory is that it can cloud one's vision from a real threat, global cooling. And in so doing can cause great harm to this country. Perhaps you might consider sending it out.
Legacy for Our Children
There is a lot of talk these days about the legacy we will leave our children and our grandchildren. When I stare into the immediate future, I see a frightening legacy caked in darkness and famine. Instead of intelligently preparing, we find ourselves whittling away this precious time chasing fraudulent theories. We have a decade to prepare, but have a misguided sense of direction and urgency.

I just received this message from Kees de Jager about an article which he wrote with Silvia Duhau. It has been published in the latest issue of the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics.
The authors don't foresee any further global warming in the near future, but the possibility of a new Dalton minimum in stead.
If they are right, current climate policies will become irrelevant and will have to be fundamentally reassessed.
