The public is the biggest's loser as Greenpeace and the Met Office do not make the effort to turn up at the "Climate Fools Day" conference to learn what has changed our climate in the past 60 years and what will change our climate in the next 100.

What was hailed as the first public meeting to oppose the UK climate bill, The "Climate Fools Day" Anniversary Conference, convened by Piers Corbyn and WeatherAction.com,was in fact the launch of a long awaited public address to the advances in the Solar Weather Forecasting technique. Piers did not disappoint, he gave a brilliant demonstration of his forecasting principles that put the CO2 industry to shame.

The wasted billions of the "Man Made Climate Change" worshippers in their pursuit of seeing "The Emperors New Clothes" has not delivered anything so far, and neither will it ever deliver anything in the future, apart from requests for even more finance to appease an ever increasing skeptical public that has seen the "Emperor" laid bare.

Scarcely a day goes by without a supposed expert advising us of the latest step we must take to save the world from a global warming apocalypse. But this week's proposal from Lord Stern of Brentford out-trumps them all.

A former civil service economist plucked from semi-obscurity by Tony Blair to become a guru on 'climate change', he now tells us the best way to stave off global warming is to give up eating meat.

This, he explains, is because one of the most damaging contributions to the greenhouse effect is the methane given off by all those cows and sheep when they pass wind.

Even by the Green lobby's standards of self-deceiving absurdity, this must be a front-runner for the most fatuous proposal so far. Yet Lord Stern, alas, is not the first anti-global warming zealot to issue such an absurd missive.

Last year, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, the railway engineer who is head of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, made a similar suggestion to a conference organised by Compassion in World Farming.

Breaking: Fewer Americans See Solid Evidence of Global Warming: Overview - Pew Research Center for the People & the Press

There has been a sharp decline over the past year in the percentage of Americans who say there is solid evidence that global temperatures are rising. And fewer also see global warming as a very serious problem – 35% say that today, down from 44% in April 2008.

The latest national survey by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 4 among 1,500 adults reached on cell phones and landlines, finds that 57% think there is solid evidence that the average temperature on earth has been getting warmer over the past few decades. In April 2008, 71% said there was solid evidence of rising global temperatures.

Over the same period, there has been a comparable decline in the proportion of Americans who say global temperatures are rising as a result of human activity, such as burning fossil fuels. Just 36% say that currently, down from 47% last year.

The decline in the belief in solid evidence of global warming has come across the political spectrum, but has been particularly pronounced among independents. Just 53% of independents now see solid evidence of global warming, compared with 75% who did so in April 2008.

“Where it gets completely wild is when you consider what kinds of things we can do to reduce carbon emissions,” Running said. “The technology doesn’t exist to do that now, without reducing our lifestyles to primitive levels.”

The Running in the above quote is University of Montana forestry professor Steve Running, who shared in the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize as a member of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He is heading up a new University of Montana degree program on Climate Change Studies. I believe Running is correct in his conclusion. If releasing Carbon Dioxide, CO2, into the atmosphere in the exhaust from the burning of fossil fuels is driving an irreversible global climate change that will destroy our way of life, we have no viable solution available. The only answer would be to return the Tarzan and Jane in the jungle. That is why the debate about the effect of CO2 on climate is so vitally important.

I also know with absolute confidence that the effect on climate from the CO2 in the exhaust from burning fossil fuels is having only a tiny, insignificant impact on climate. Therefore, we do not have any valid reason to reduce our lifestyles to the primitive level, as he professor suggests we might have to.
