I am sure a lot of you have noticed a new tab has appeared on our navigation bar,
Twitter Trends, but what exactly is Twitter and what on Earth are Twitter Trends I hear you ask, well let me try and answer these two questions:
- What is Twitter?
Twitter is a micro blogging service where users post short comments called tweets that by default can be read by anyone, keywords can be highlighted by prefixing them with the # symbol which makes the word a hashtag - these allow fast trending of tweets, if you have a Twitter account you can create a list of people you want to follow resulting in a custom list of tweets by people you are interested in.
- What are Twitter Trends?
As by default everyones tweets are public Twitter allows you to do keyword, phrase and hashtag searches, this allows you to see what other users are saying about specific or general topics right now.
Now to our new Twitter Trends page, we run multiple keyword, phrase and hashtag searches to try and find a good overview of what the worlds population is saying about Climate Realist topics.
It's not unknown for news stories to break on Twitter.
