Climate change. The end of the road? by Will Alexander, SA UN Scientist

Do you believe in miracles? I experienced one while writing the attached memo. It was the culmination of decades of sustained effort with many obstacles along the road.

[I had difficulty in responding to all the emails that I received during recent months. If I have not responded to your email, please send me a copy. All my received emails from the end of December through to 11 July were accidentally deleted.]

Extract.....I had no sooner distributed this memo than I received another request. Would I please address a committee of decision-makers on the climate change issue? They had already heard the views of the other side.

How could I refuse? In my enthusiasm I decided that this time I would go for their throats. The organisers became worried and asked me to cool it. I told them that it was like asking me to kill a snake with a toothbrush.

Nevertheless, I settled down. Like the generals on both sides during WW II, I calmly planned my offensive. It had to be short and hold the attention of the audience. This in turn required simple, understandable illustrations and photographs. Fortunately I have many to choose from.

Climate change. Fact or fiction? by Will Alexander, South African U.N. Scientist

Soon after I distributed my RIP memo I received a request from Cape Town where the climate changers are very active. I was asked to comment on the position in the Western Cape in the light of the international developments.

I agreed because I was directly involved in a serious difference with the other side on the Western Cape issue several years ago.

I have written many reports and published papers together with my colleagues. They were all based on our own studies. Now for the first time I could substantiate them by referring to the rising tide of worldwide scepticism on virtually every aspect of climate change theory.

I was in the process of writing the report when the Royal Society's press release was published on the Internet. This is the death knell for climate change science. There is no way that it can recover.

CLIMATE CHANGE - RIP

The attached memo 12/10 and its illustrations are an appropriate ending to my series of memos during the past eight years. Feel free to pass this on to anybody who has an interest.

Warning:

The photographs are not suitable for study by sensitive Western viewers. Perhaps they will understand why increasing the welfare of these people should be humanity’s principal objective – not all those millions of dollars and hundreds of hours spent on fruitless research efforts related to climate change.

Will

Stern Review cover-up (West vs the Rest Pt 3) by Will Alexander, S. African UN Scientist

That climates have changed radically in the past is indisputable, that they will change again in future is certain. Climate and its variability have always been major environmental determinants with which mankind has had to contend.

Mean temperature is of limited value as a parameter of climate.’

Climate change and variability in Southern Africa. P.D. Tyson (1987).

Peter Tyson is South Africa's doyen climatologist. Is it not clear from these quotes that the first and essential step in climate change analyses is the determination of the natural conditions? When studying my report it will become obvious that climate change scientists failed to follow this fundamental procedure.

Purpose of my report

The purpose of my attached report An assessment of the likely consequences of global warming on the climate in South Africa, is described on its title page:

The purpose is to provide linkages between climatic processes and hydrometeorological responses. This is required for the reconciliation of climate change theory with observational deductions derived from extensive studies of a comprehensive South African database.

GLOBAL ECONOMIC WARFARE? by Will Alexander, S. African UN Scientist

The plot thickens

It is difficult to keep abreast of the continuing tide of criticisms of the whole climate change issue. Unsuccessful attempts by the major Western nations and NGOs to prevent the World Bank from approving South Africa's loan application introduced a new dimension to the issue. For the first time we have seen the change from words to action.

It is the Western nations that propagated this whole climate change charade. These nations have already started implementing costly emissions control measures. They erroneously assumed that other nations would follow their example. This has not happened. To make matters worse, this whole climate change issue is contributing to a widening rift between the affluent Western nations and the rest.

The gap is also widening between some of the former Commonwealth countries, India and South Africa for a start, and the UK. This is the first time that serious differences have arisen between Commonwealth countries and the UK. The governments of Australia, New Zealand and Canada have accepted climate change theory despite protests from some of their scientists. These counties will also face problems when the truth becomes known.

This whole climate change issue is unravelling like a Sherlock Holmes novel of old, or Midsummer Murders on TV.

The IPCC was established in 1988 but it was only after its assessment reports of 2001 that the plot gathered momentum. Opposition started mounting between then and the 2007 assessment reports. The attached memo refers to the events during the 2005/06 period with the emphasis on the Stern Review. I responded vigorously but without effect.

Others had similar reservations but we were outnumbered. Nevertheless, the other side was forced on the defensive as it was patently unable to substantiate its alarmist claims.

Then, out of the blue in November last year the Climategate scandal hit the Internet. Less than a month later we witnessed the ignominious collapse of the Copenhagen conference. It was saved by last minute discussions between President Obama of the US and the heads of state of the BASIC nations (Brazil, South Africa, India and China). Other Western nations were sidelined including the UK and the EU.

Then came a flood of exposures of the antics of those who compiled the IPCC's assessment reports.

These were followed by cover up investigations of the UK House of Commons and the UN bodies. But these did not address the fundamental differences in the basic science.

This is from last Monday’s email.

South African recipients will appreciate that there is a difficult week ahead for our country. The last thing that we need is an adverse World Bank decision.

Nobody could have forecast the dramatic events that occurred during the week. This was one of the most important weeks in our history. In chronological order they were:

On Saturday 3 April the leader of an extremist, racially oriented political organisation was murdered. The authorities realised the possible consequences and rapidly stepped in. Both sides were urged to stay calm and not do anything that could worsen the situation. The situation is still tense in most of South Africa.

On Thursday 8 April the University of the Witwatersrand announced the discovery of a pair of well preserved, 2 million year old humanoid fossils at the Cradle of Humankind. The university appointed a team of South African and international experts to study the fossils. Compare this procedure with that adopted by the University of East Anglia in the UK where there were no multidisciplinary studies. They even manipulated the evidence to suit their objectives.

The World Bank's decision on South Africa's loan application for the construction of a large coal-fired power station is due by the end of this week. But I want to get in first!

Please read the attached memo on the climate knowledge cage. It goes to the heart of the climate change issue.

South African recipients will appreciate that there is a difficult week ahead for our country. The last thing that we need is an adverse World Bank decision.

Climate Change At The Crossroads by Will Alexander, S. African UN Scientist

Co2sceptic (Site Admin)
South Africa recently announced its decision to continue with the construction of coal-fired power stations to meet its electricity requirements for the immediate future. These will be followed by the construction of nuclear power stations. It has applied for a World Bank loan for the completion of the large coal-fired power station now under construction.

The national and international reactions to these decisions are described in the attached Memo 06/10 Climate change at the crossroads. They are likely to have far-reaching consequences.

As always, feel free to distribute this to anybody who has an interest.

Will

The IPCC's carcass by Will Alexander, S. African UN Scientist

THE IPCC’S CARCASS

Let me start by quoting from my last two emails

4 February 2010 Email 04/10

DISINTEGRATION OF THE IPCC

‘We are now witnessing the disintegration of the IPCC’. That is what I wrote in sixteen days ago.

The bombardment continues with increased ferocity. The IPCC cannot possibly survive.

Read the attached memo.

Anthropogenic global warming (AGW) was the blood that circulated through the veins of climate change science and kept it alive. In the short space of four months it has been shown that the globe ceased warming in 1995. Climate change science is dead.

The recent news was a great relief to those of us who have spent many hours of our lives searching in vain for the proclaimed consequences of climate change. We can now relax while watching the predators devouring the climate change carcass. See the attached and previous memos for details.

Those with a more philosophical view should consider the possible consequences of this failure on international, political, economic and scientific relations in the years ahead.

There are valid fears that the world is about to enter a cooling phase. The consequences will be far more severe on the welfare of the peoples of the world than the postulated rising temperatures.

Going still deeper into the science, the possible occurrence of climatic disturbances of biblical proportions resulting from unexpected variations in solar activity within the next decade cannot be ignored. Evidence that variations in received solar energy are the principal drivers of multiyear hydro-climatic variations is overwhelming.

Regards,

Will

» Will humans continue to be responsible with the resources of the Earth when the AGW Climate Change theory has been disproved?
I will continue to be responsible with the resources of the Earth.
It would make no difference to the Earths resources if we did not recycle household waste.
I'm confused and only recycle to save the world from "Man Made Climate Change."
