I show some major science errors which are not being discussed elsewhere. An example is atmospheric equilibrium temperature.
The net, equivalent temperature of the atmosphere is defined by equilibrium requirements.
Alarmist scientists are contradiction the concept of equilibrium by claiming that there is a direct relationship between heat addition and temperature increase. With equilibrium, the temperature stays almost the same when heat is added.
Equilibrium is based on the fact that temperature determines the rate of radiation emission from matter.
Equilibrium is possible because heat escapes the atmosphere through radiation which goes around the greenhouse gasses rather than through them. If such equilibrium were not occurring, there would be an indefinable build-up of heat, which is not occurring.
Approximately half of the back body radiation goes around the greenhouse gasses, mostly at longer wavelengths. This radiation cools the planet. Then colder matter emits less radiation causing the rate of emission to equal the rate of absorption of energy from the sun.
Blocking half of the wavelengths with greenhouse gasses is of no relevance. If it were relevant, dramatic and uncontrolled effects would occur. The irrelevance of radiation being blocked by greenhouse gasses is demonstrated by the near-uniform gradient of temperatures with height in the atmosphere.
Most of the radiation leaving the planet escapes from the atmosphere, not the surface of the earth. This is because the atmosphere creates a three dimensional emitting zone, while a surface is two dimensional.
Vastly more radiation can escape from a three dimensional gas than from a two dimensional surface.
For this reason, it matters little how heat gets into the atmosphere.
The most uninformed scientists assume that all heat gets into the atmosphere as a result of greenhouse gasses absorbing radiation.
They never quite noticed that conduction and convection are about a hundred times more effective at cooling a surface than radiation. That's why fans are used for cooling.
Since radiation leaves the planet from all parts of the atmosphere, there is a nearly uniform gradient of temperatures in the atmosphere.
The top of the atmosphere is coldest, because there is less heat capacity, and hence less heat, at lower pressure. Also, some of the emitted radiation would get reabsorbed at lower heights, but no one seems to be studying the absorption characteristics of nitrogen and oxygen. All matter absorbs, as well as emits, black body radiation.

What all of this means is that equilibrium requires a particular fixed, equivalent temperature for radiation to escape the atmosphere at the same rate that energy is acquired from the sun.
If this equivalent temperature were to change, equilibrium would force it back. Since there is some time lag in establishing equilibrium, there are short-term variations. But climatologists are only concerned with long-term effects, while equilibrium prevents long-term temperature variations from occurring in the emitting mediums.
Physics know that a fixed temperature is required to get a particular rate of emission. But instead of saying the equivalent temperature of the whole atmosphere is fixed, they say there is a zone about five kilometers high which does all the emitting.
They get this assumption from the Stephan-Boltzmann constant which says a surface emits 235 watts per square meter at -19째C. The temperature -19째C is located about 5 km up. But the Stephan-Boltzmann constant only applies to surfaces, not to gasses. Climatologists use it anyway as a rationalization mechanisms, which only shows how shameless they can be when there is almost no accountability to the public for their obscure science. The public cannot afford to ignore what is happening in the basic science of this subject.
There obviously is no such zone where all of the emissions occur.
Nothing can prevent emissions from occurring throughout the atmosphere, while the warmer temperatures near the surface will emit more. And there is no mechanism for getting all of the energy into a narrow zone for emissions.
