In my last memo, acting on instructions of my better half, I informed readers that it would be my last contribution to this climate change issue.
But things have changed. I received several encouraging comments and three requests for publication of the material in the memos. Then the media reported that Al Gore had been invited to South Africa. The NGOs have woken up.
It is obvious that there is a growing international instability on economic issues. I have always had an interest in the history of warfare and its causes. All the ingredients are there for another outbreak of hostilities.
My two attached reports are an attempt to put the whole climate change issue in perspective and to offer a solution.
The resumption of the stalled Bonn discussions in September will provide an important insight into the direction that international discussions are likely to take during the UNFCCC's conference (COP 17) that is due to take place in Durban starting at the end of November.
South Africa has delayed the production of its White Paper on climate change until after the completion of these discussions.
